Moments That Get You Through The Day...

It's times like these that make me smile:)


On Sunday night we headed out on another walk and it was really windy. So we bunddled the little guy up in this sweet coat I got at old navy for like 4 bucks. It's a zero to three month one and yeah i doesn't fit so well. His manly chest is too big.

We covered him up really good for our walk and headed out. He was not very happy about not being able to see us and screamed. We took off the blanket and he was a lot happier. It was so windy outside we thought he would prefer being covered up but apparently he loves to watch people. I am pretty sure if I sat with him on the coach all day long and stared at him he would be so so happy. I would maybe go crazy but I guess thats what being a mom is all about.

13 lbs 13 oz!

On Thursday we went to Brenden 2 months appointment. I was excited to find out how much he weighed but not excited for the shots. We got in rather quickly which was very nice and they asked us a few questions and we were off to the scale. The scaled read 13 lbs 13 oz. I thought wow thats big. The doctor came in a few minutes later and told us that he was in the 93% for his weight. Which means that only 7% of babies in the U.S. his age are fatter then him. Thats a big boy! He is now 23.5 inches long and his head is right where it is suppose to be. We discussed a few things with the Doctor about how cranky he seems to be. The only thing he could come up with is that he is just Colic. So that pretty much means he could be this angry up to 5 months and there is nothing we can do about it. Yeah thats a little depressing! I guess we will survive. The next part was the shots. Poor little guy didn't know what was coming. I held his hand and they shoved those needles in and he screamed a lot really loud for about 2 minutes and then when I picked him up he was fine. We were very excited about that. They didn't seem to bother him at all the rest of the day. This two months has definitely been quite a job but I am excited to see the new changes in him the next two months:)

Brenden Can Roll!

The little guy is growing up and we are excited! Last night Moss and I were hanging out and Moss put Brenden on his belly and before we knew it he was trying to roll over. We sat and watch and he did it all by himself:) I snap a few pictures of it last night.

Then this morning I decided we should try again and I got out the video camera. This time he did it on flat ground and seemed happy about it. I had him try again so I could catch it on my phone and this time he was not as happy as you can tell. He did start out on his belly but I only caught the last half. Hopefully he gets a bit happier about rolling around. Today his his 2 months appointment and I am excited to see what the Dr. has to say about our little man.

Something to entertain

Lately Mr. Man aka Brenden has been a little cranky. When I say lately I mean the last 8 weeks:) Finding things to keep him entertained and happy is a full time job and I am running out of ideas. Today while the swing was out of commission (fyi always have back up batteries or your in for a long night) we found a new one. I was putting his socks on getting him ready for church and I laid him in his crib and decided to turn on the mobile. I was pretty sure these things never entertian little kids and were just there to be cute but thankfully I was wrong. He just loved it! He just kept staring and staring at it. We were very happy.

I walked away for a few minutes and came back to this...

Moss thought he would like it more if he could not only watch it but play with it as well. Definitly only something a dad would think of. He seemed to enjoy it a lot. Good work Dad!

Date Night

Last night Moss and I went to Nashville's Tribute to Joseph thanks to Ashley and Brad hooking us up with some tickets and Moss' parents watching the fella for us. Moss gave me the CD for my birthday last year and I really like it so I was pretty excited. It was so awesome. Some parts were way funny while some were way inspiring. I am hoping to get the new CD by them about the pioneers for my birthday. One song on there is about the children that came across the plain and one of the dudes daughters sang it, it was incredible. Usually when kids sing its cute and their voices are ok but holy cow these girls were amazing! Man I wish I could sing. I pretend a lot, poor Moss! There were some pretty amazing singers there and I think its way awesome that they devote their talents to sharing the gospel through music.

Random Happenings

We figured the sick season of RSV is about over so all three of us made the trek back to church. Brenden barley fit into his church shirt with all the button done up!

We unbutton one and he looked a lot happier. Here are my boys all ready for church!The weather around here has been pretty much perfect these last few days so we brought out Brenden's summer clothes. Is it a problem that he fits perfectly into his three month clothes and he can wear his six months ones pretty nicely too? I think he got the Key family body and not the Lillywhite. I need to start saving up now so I can buy him plenty of food when he is a teenager.

The Flip Flops didn't last for too long cause they are a little too little but he did seem to like them while they were on.

Brenden also got a sweet Bumbo or at moss calls it "bum bum" for St. Patrick's day. He didn't like it much at first but after a few tries he seems to enjoy it a lot.He isn't perfect at holding up his head yet so he gets a pillow for now but I think it will be really good for feeding once he starts eating cereal. He loves to hang out with dad.
But sometimes he just looks like a fat old man:)

Happy Saint Patty's Day!

We all decided to get into the spirit of the Irish this year and wear green. Actually Moss had to for work and I did because any kind of holiday is sweet and well Brenden didn't have a choice in the matter. I didn't make any green food this year cause I am still trying to control Brenden and his crabbiness but probably next year when Brenden can be excited about it! Thats weird that Brenden is screaming in this picture...

Time for some new hair!

After having a baby it's hard to feel gorgeous when your still trying to get your body back. I decided that getting my hair done would be a fun way to spice things up. Thanks to Bonnie she got me an appointment with a great hair stylist who I used to go to in high school. I loved my hair then! I got some highlights and added a bit more bang. I don't have too long of time to get my hair done in the morning cause the fella isn't too much into entertaining himself yet. It will be nice to have it look cute without doing too much to it. Someday my face won't be so fat until then, pardon me!
Brenden also seems to like it, I am sure that is why he is so smiley today. Check out those dimples!

High School...Good Times...

Today I was over at my parents house looking around at some old pictures from back in the day and I came across these sweet ones. I know that some of you that look at my blog are in them, I hope you enjoy! No need to get offended I am pretty sure I look the most ridiculous! For thoese of you who were not fortunate enough to be there let me explain. It was Senior Ball and I was in my Junior year and hadn't been asked and didn't plan on getting ask so I thought we should have a party for all of the girls that were too cool to get asked. It eventually turned into an 80's party with us playing girl talk and working out to Richard Simmons. We did go to the dance and crashed it a little bit. Some people thought we were serious about our dresses! It was really funny and I am so glad I had more fun at this party then I did the next year at Senior Ball. I can't wait until these sweet bangs come back in style I have my hairspray and comb in hand waiting for the second they do!

Aw... to run again!

On Monday I went to my 6 week postpartum appointment and got the ok to resume my new normal life. This means I got to take a bath and begin to exercise:) I went to the gym with Brenden and he did really good for a little while but then got mad. I got some good exercise in and an old man even came up to me and said he admire me for being there and that everyone else had no excuse to not work out. Haha I felt pretty good about myself. Well its kind of hard to load him all up and drive to Summit and then hope he will be good so I decided that on days when we don't make it to the gym I will run while Moss gives Brenden his bath. So last night Moss and I drove around our neighborhood and figured out I needed to run around about 2 times to make it a mile. Nine o'clock came around and we got Brenden in the bath and I was off. I can't tell you how much easier it is to work out with an I-pod aw....so nice. I didn't think I was going to be able to run the whole way since its been almost a year since I ran a mile straight. But I did it! I was so proud of myslef. The whole way I was thinking "keep going so you can tell Moss you did it"! I have very little motivation for myself but for Moss I like to do cool sutff. I did it in about 11 mins. I know that is horrible but I was happy. The fastest I ever did one in high school was 8:30 so I have a lot to imporve on but for now I will just be happy I can run a mile straight!

Moss also took over reading to Brenden last night and I got some cute pictures of him...Brenden kind of looks like an inmate but thats ok we think he is pretty cute in his striped Pjs!

Brenden has been pretty crabby at random times latley so we are trying to find things to keep him busy. We have taken some walks in the back yard with this sweet thing. He will stay happy in it for about 10 minutes and then want out but at least that is ten minutes he is happy!

I would also like to do a shout out for Brenden...I have been to scared to do it in fear that if I say anything he will stop. Brenden only waked up once in the night and will be a wake for about a half hour to eat and then return to sleep. It is so nice to put him to bed between 10 and 11 and not have him wake up until 5 or 6 and then he will sleep til 9! Oh it is so so nice! Good work little guy Mom and Dad are very very Happy about this! He even slept through the night last week from 11-8. Good boy!

Brenden Babbles Video

Brenden is getting really good at babbling! It is so nice to hear him make a noise that is not crying. Here is a little example of him trying to tell me all about his day with daddy. I think it is pretty cute!

Brenden's Blessing

Today was Brenden's blessing day and it all went very well.





His outfit which my mom made fit perfect. We were a little worried because he is getting fatter and fatter everyday! He weighs almost exactly the same as his cousin Hailee who is 3 months older than him. He even kept it clean the whole day until we took it off of him. Good work little man!

He was even quiet through the whole blessing which is good because lately he has been a little cranky if he isn't sleeping or eating. He was actually asleep but I am sure he enjoyed it anyways. It was really nice because all of our siblings and there families were able to make it. All of my family lives here so we get together every Sunday but Moss family is spread all over Utah. Everyone made the trip down and we were very excited about that. We pretty much filled the chapel. There was also another blessing going on so needless to say our ward was pretty big today. Moss did an awesome job! I am so happy that he was able to bless him:)

Afterward we came over to our house and had some lunch and all hung out. Oh and don't mind Hailee's huge flower...:)

Brenden was so tired from his big day that he slept pretty much the whole time everyone was over here.

Bonnie was tired too I guess and Brayden was just happy to be acting like himself...

He thinks he is pretty sexy...

Brenden's favorite thing to do while in the bath is look at himself. The whole time he will just sit there at stare. We all have grown to love bath time because it means he is happy for as long as we keep him in there. However, he hates it when he gets out. Probably just because he is cold, but I think he just misses the bath. At least he looks really cute!
He turned one month old on Friday and has perfected this smile pretty good now. He smiled for me last Wednesday when I was talking to him. Yesterday he smile for Moss while we were at TJ max. Moss was so excited. I caught him smiling a little bit the other day... Sometimes when he is so sleepy he will make random noises and the cutest faces. This was after a very long day for him and he was just ready for it to be over...

"They walk and walk and walk a-n-d w-a-l-k..."

Maybe we didn't walk as far as the pioneers did but I am pretty sure it was pretty dang close! Yesterday I thought it would be fun to get on one of the city trails and go for a little walk. We loaded up the kid and headed off to the trail head kind of by Summit.
It was really nice, Brenden only cried a few times and we would swing him around then put him back in the stroller. Sometimes he would cry a little in the stroller and I would just drive crazy and he would calm down. I forgot that when Moss goes on walks he does not want to stop. We ended up walking clear to the new Dixie center, the trail you can see from the freeway by bloomignton Wal-mart. We got a drink there (totally forgot to bring a water bottle whoops) then turned around.
I never thought we were going to get home. I saw what I thought might be a short cut and so we got off the trail and walked through Bloomington hills and searched for a different trail head that we new was there somewhere. Turns out it was not a short cut at all and we most likely added about a half mile to our journey. We finnally found the trail again and I was about to die as you can see here... (maybe I exaggerated for this picture a little)Moss just kept walking as happy as can be.


I finally could spot the car with a little less than a mile left, I was so so excited!
Round trip we walked about 6 miles Moss says, I think it was more like 10 but whatever! All I know is we walked for two and a half hours straight! Moss and I both got some sun which is always nice, luckily Brenden was all covered up:)
