Brenden Four Months Old!

Yesterday was Brenden four month birthday! He is getting so big and we are excited about it! On Tuesday we went to his Dr. appointment and he weight in at a whopping 16 lbs 13 oz. Thats a big boy! I forgot to grab the paper but I think it is like in the 95 percentile. He is 25 inches long which is right at 50 percent. Pretty much he is growing a lot more horizontal than vertical but it is a good thing. As soon as he starts rolling and crawling he will be all over the place I am pretty sure. I told the Dr. he has been coughing quite a bit at night and he asked if he was still cranky a lot and I said yes. Because of both those things he thinking he might have acid reflux. So he prescribe us some medicine and wished us luck. We gave it to him that night and Moss said he was pretty good while I was at the gym. The next morning I gave him some more and didn't see too much of difference. But he said to give it a two week trial and see how it goes. So that is the plan for now.

This last week Brenden has started to sit up really good by himself and for a few minutes at a time. Good work buddy! Here he is all ready for bed getting a few more sits in.

Swinging away

Every time we go over to Moss' parents house Brenden just loved to swing on the swing set. When I say he loves it I mean he falls to sleep. So Moss and I both love it too. Someday we would like to get a swing set but for now we had to improvise with this sweet thing. It consist of a pull up bar and wal-mart swing. Don't worry before I would let moss put the swing on I made him do like 20 pull ups to make sure it was good and tight. I also made him swing around on it for a bit. Once I was certain it would stay up with our little chubby man swinging around we tried it out.
He seemed to enjoy it for awhile but then would get sick of it. We thought maybe it was the swing since it didn't lay back as much as Grandma's did. So we bought a different one, he liked it a little better but still wasn't falling to sleep. So we are now going to trade grandma for her swing. He actually fell to sleep with grandma's swing. We are SO excited!!!

A little while ago Cam (Heather's kid) came over to play for a little while. I got to say he is going to be a great big brother. Brenden is always wanting someone right there to watch him or talk to him and having Cam around just made it all so much easier. While Brenden was playing in this sweet thing Cam went over and stared at him for awhile. When Brenden started to get fussy Cam would pat him on the head and he would be just fine! Haha I thought it was pretty funny. Good work Cam!

Brenden's First Swim

This week I figured it was time for Brenden to take his first dip in the Summit pool. We headed out to Target and bought him a sweet new swim suit, swimmers and covered him with sunscreen. I got a 6 month one since thats the smallest they had. But when I put it on him I figured out I should of bought a 9 month shirt instead. Whoops!

We pretty much just sat on this step the whole time but he seemed to enjoy it a lot and only got upset a few times.

After awhile he wanted to sit on my lap and eat his fingers.

When he was done swimming I was sitting on the chairs talking with Bonnie and apparently he got really sleepy and feel to sleep. It was so dang cute!!! I love it when he falls to sleep at random times, especially when I am holding him. That's probably the best thing about babies.

Another random picture of him sleeping is when he feel to sleep in the bath tub! Haha sometimes he is so so sleepy by that time of night!

Mother's Day 2009

This year was my first legit Mothers Day. I have never appreciated the day as much I did this year. Being a mom is a lot of hard work and if anyone says different they are either lieing or have a full time nanny. A couple weeks ago a girl got up in church and said how it had been tough for her raising a little baby. I was so happy she said that because I feel the same way and all I have heard from people other than my sisters is "I love every second of being a mom". I don't want to come off like I don't love my son because I do. I just think people like to put on a show so they don't look bad. Well I think that is stupid and we cannot learn from each other that way. It 's nice to hear that other people are going through the same feelings as me and I am not a horrible mother. Things are slowly getting easier as he gets bigger and is able to do more things. Sometimes his little smiles ever not and again get me through the day. I am pretty sure thats why he lets little babies start to smile at just a few weeks old. It's like he is saying, "I know I am really hard on you Mom and you have no idea that you are doing but I am happy to be around you." In church these week a guy read this poem and I am pretty sure every mothers got a litte tiery eyes. I know I did.

Once upon a time, a child was ready to be born. So he asked God, "How am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"


God answered, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

The Child asked, "Here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile, that's enough for me to be happy.

God answered, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."

The Child asked, "How will I learn?" "I don't know the language that men talk?"

God said, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to live."

The Child asked, "What am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God smiled, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

The Child pleaded, "Who will protect me?"

God said, "Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life. "

At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly: "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name?"

Your angel's name is of no importance, you will simply call your angel, "Mom."

Before I tell about my mothers day I would like to just give a little shout out to all the mothers out there. Weather you have been a mom for only a few months or 30 years. Good work! I know its hard. I hope I have helped anyone struggling right now.

The morning started off with Moss getting up with Brenden so I could sleep in a little bit. It was then time for presents. Brenden bought me Jenga, Moss swears he said jenga and thats why he bought it. Moss also got me an ipod shuffle so it will be easier to tote around while I work out.

Moss also got me these sweet egg Muffin maker things. It is awesome! It poaches you and egg whilst it toast your bread and heats you meat. It can also hard boil 4 eggs at a time.

We got it all working and had a sweet breakfast!

After church we went up to my moms house where each kid gave her a tile like these. I think they were very very cute. Good idea Heather, thanks for the use of your house Bonnie and good work holding Brenden Joanna so I could do mine.

Thanks for the mothers day Brenden and Moss it was nice to get a little extra attention! Although Moss always helps out so much on any given day!

P.S. Last mothers day is when we found out we where having little Brenden. It kinda of seems like 5 years ago:)

So big!

Our boy is growing up! I recently have noticed how big Brenden is getting, especially while I am lugging around his car seat. The other day at church this lady saw me walking and asked if I needed help. Maybe I need to try and act a little more graceful while I try to balance him. I thought it would be interesting to see how he would fit into the shirt he got at the hospital. He didn't like it much but I thought it looked kind of funny.The funny thing is that the arms still fit just fine, it was just his belly that was hanging out a bit. So cute I love his chubbiness, even if I have to go to the gym 3 days a week to be strong enough to tote him around:)

Watch Bands

By encouragement of my sisters I have started making these watch bands. They are really cool because you just have to buy one watch face and then can switch out the bands for a whole new look. My sisters usually get these for about $30 dollars but I however will make them for $15:) If anyone is interested in buying any let me know. Here are a few examples, I will add more as I make more. If you would like to see a certain color please leave a comment and I will do my best to make one up.
