Date Night

Last night Moss and I were headed home from the store and Moss was telling me how he had played some games in the tween room at Summit while someone was testing and it was a lot of fun so we decided to go play in there for awhile since Brenden was asleep. First we played air hockey, Moss was winning at first and probably thought I am going to dominate her. Well either he got to comfortable or I got really good because I soon took the lead and held it for a 15 to 11 win in our 15 minute game. It was really fun! I rock at air hockey!

Next we headed over to the arcade game and played a little Galactica. I was not so good at that game and Moss beat me by about 500 points. I usually don't like arcade games cause they are too stressful for me but that one I enjoyed. Brenden slept the whole time which was really great.


We came home and were recording some home videos where one of the grand kids got army men for a gift so Moss decided I needed to see all his army men. He went and got them and then proceeded to set them all up in different categories so I could see just how cool they really are. When Brenden was being fussy Moss took him and explained to me how to set them up the rest of the way.

After they were all set up Moss got some rubber bands and showed me how they would play war. He did a pretty good job and knocked a lot of them down. I tried and totally missed them by about 5 feet. I should probably never join the rubber band army...

Later after Brenden's bath it was time for some stories, Moss got the camera and took a few pictures. It is really surprising to me how interested he is in looking at the books. He is pretty good at staring at the pictures and staying happy.

New Bathtub:)

Moss and I were hanging out at one of our favorite places in the world, you know TJ Max:) We went to find new kitchen shears cause I broke our other ones and we came across this new tub. You may recall Brenden has been taking baths in a storage bin since I couldn't find a good bath, until now. We found this sweet one for only $15! This same one was at Wal-mart and Target for $30. I was so excited when I saw it and hurried and threw it in the cart before anyone else could steal it. That night when it was Bath time (9:00) I got the bath already and Moss put him in. He loved it! It is so much easier and I am a lot less worried about him drowning. He gets to sit on a little seat and has a padded back and I don't have to worry about wringing out the towel afterward. He just will sit in it and kick and kick, sometimes he tries to eat the bubbles from the soap but he is learning not to do that. I am so happy about this new tub! Gosh my life is exciting:)When Brenden is trying to wake up it is pretty funny. It takes him about a twenty minutes to wake up all the way. After a lot of stretching and grunting he is finally able to do it. Moss says that he gets it from me, I don't know what he is talking about. Here is a little sample of it...

What Brenden Does

One of Brenden's favorite things to do is sit in his bouncer and just kick and move as much as he possibly can. It is pretty cute and we both love it when he can entertain himself for a few minutes. I took a little video of him just doing what he loves:)

He even loves to wear his jeans, they are a little long but other than that they fit perfect.

Second Anniversary

On Monday we celebrated our second anniversary by going around and looking at the parade of homes. My mom was nice and watch Brenden for the day while Moss and I got to spend some time together. It was Bonnie and Aaron's anniversary also so we tagged along with them.

We look at some houses down here then headed up to the ledges and saw some sweet ones up there. Some of them were not even parade houses but were cooler anyways. One you could see into the pool from the downstairs it was pretty sweet. It was funny cause a bunch of the furniture we saw Bonnie would say oh we have that. Moss and I could not say too often but we finally could when I saw the egg holder in the fridge, it is one we stole from Stone cliff:) We are cool too I guess. For lunch we went to the restaurant up in the ledges. The waitress was extremely proper and was talking really soft and slow, Moss and I laughed really hard when she walked away, Aaron probably thought we were weird haha. Oh well we are imature still I guess. The food was really good and not too badly priced either, I would suggest you all taking a trip up there, it's on like 8 to 12 dollars a plate.(Moss hamburger was huge thats why he looks so cool biting into it)

After wards we went to a few other houses and then Moss and I ran a few errands and then picked up our little boy. It was weird to be without him since I have been around him pretty much every second since he was born but it was a nice little break.

For dinner Moss stopped and got me a Mcrib, cause they are so yummy and Moss has some Cheese and apples. We both share a great love for cheese, it's so romantic:)

Valentine's Day 2009

Yesterday Moss and I shared a great Valentine day together. It was a little different than the other two Valentines day we have had together since now we have a baby to keep entertained but he mostly slept the whole day so that was nice.
The day started off very nice, Moss got up with Brenden and I slept in til 11:00. I know that sounds really lazy but I did get up with him a few times in the night and I love my sleep. I finally rolled out of bed and headed out to the kitchen where I saw this....

Moss was making me breakfast, so nice of him. He said I tried to make then red pancakes but I couldn't find the food coloring. So cute! Brenden decided to wake up at this point to our breakfast was a little delayed but it was so nice of Moss to make it.

Since our Anniversary is two days after Valentines Moss and I decided to split up the two holidays and I am in charge of Valentines and he is in charge of our Anniversary. I really like it a lot! This year I made little valentines and wrote the reasons I love him and hid them random places in the house where he would find them when he went through out his day. He was really excited about them and loved to find each of them.
We spent the day over at Bonnies house helping Aaron put up a t.v. It was fun to hang out there and Brenden slept a lot so that was good. We then went to a few stores and then got some dinner. Moss has been craving stuffed crust pizza for a few months now so I decided last night would be a good night for that. He was really excited. It wasn't very romantic but its hard to go to a restuarant with such a little wiggly kid. So instead we ate it on the drive home while he was sleeping in his car seat. I love car rides:)

When we got home I gave Moss this card I made for him. It is a letter written to Moss with candy hearts. He was really excited about this too. I love how he gets so excited about the little things I make for him. It makes me want to do stuff like this all the time.

It was then Brenden turn to give his daddy a gift, can you tell he is just so excited. I had Moss leave the room and then come in and find this, he thought it was pretty cute.

While I was getting ready our next part to the day Moss walked around the house with Brenden like this. He is still a little too small for it but he seemed to enjoy it for a little while and loved to look around at everything. I swear that kid is addicted to the sight of light, he just loves to stare at them.

The last part to V-day was having a little Fondue with some bananas strawberries pretzels and marshmallows. Moss really liked it and was excited that I took the time to get it all together. It was nice to have a little husband wife time, although Brenden was sitting right next to us in the bouncer but he was happy for about 15 minutes so it was so nice!

It was a different kind of Valentines day but I loved it. Tomorrow is our two year anniversary and my Mom volunteered to watch him from 10-4! We are going to go look at the Parade of homes and have some lunch we are both really excited!

2 Weeks old

Yesterday Brenden had his two week appointment. I was excited to see how much he weighed since he eat ALL DAY LONG! This appointment went much better than his 2 day appointment since we had a better time slot we only had to wait about 5 minutes to see the Doctor. We got in there and they weighed him and he is 9lbs 6 oz. Which means he gained a pound and one oz in two weeks. That's a good eater! He looks bigger to me. He has also grown half an inch. This is his favorite way to sleep with his hands all up in his face.

Tonight I decided I should finally take some good pictures of this kid. I have just been too tired to get anything done lately. Here are a few pictures of our little boy...

First Bath

Today we finally gave Brenden his first bath! I went to the store to buy a little tub for him to have it in but the only ones I could fine were way intense and like $30. So I decided I would buy a little tub instead and put a towel in it to make it softy. It may be ghetto but I don't really care:) Moss and I prepared ourselves the best we could but it was still a little scary. He was not happy at all at first...
He then got used to the water and enjoyed it for a few minutes.

He mostly like the sound of the water running I think. It was nice to give him a real bath instead of the sponge ones I have been, he smells a lot better now. It was a bit tricky rinsing him off cause he was so slippery but I just hopped in and did it. Moss was a very good dad and kept asking me if I needed anything and helping me out any way he could. We got home out and got him all warm and he was much happier. Moss then wrapped him up in a blanket and started singing songs to him.

That was about an hour ago and he is still at it:)

Brenden has not made much more then a peep and is just now falling to sleep. He just likes to stare at his daddy and enjoy his voice. Good job Moss:) Tomorrow is his two weeks appointment hopefully all goes well...

Saturday Outings

Saturdays are always fun shopping days for Moss and I. Sometimes its just grocery shopping but we still love it. Today Brenden was able to come along. He slept most the time but he was great company. It was weird to have to get the big shopping cart at Harmons and not be able to park in the expectant mother parking but we still survived. We even went to Moss' parents house and visited for awhile. Tonight we had a big night and went to three receptions. Two were Moss' friends which was weird cause we usually go to my friends cause all of his are married. We then went to Ashley and Brad Shelton's reception. It was so cute and they both looked adorable and so in love. I am so excited for them! Brenden did so good and slept the whole time, which Moss is not excited about because since it's the weekend he gets to get up with him tonight. Moss is so cute when he tries to keep him awake and laughs so hard when he spreads out his toes or toots in his lap. It's nice to be a little more mobile now with him and everyday I am getting more comfertable with it, thanks for Moss and him making it so easy on me. Brenden and I survived this whole week with Moss going to school and work I am very proud of myself:) Here is a picture of each of us. I think this is the first time I am posting a picture of me, I finally got brave enough:)

First Family Walk

Last night Moss and I decided it was time for Brenden's first walk. We bundled him all up and headed outside. My coat fits me again, I was excited about that. He slept the whole time which was nice cause it gave us time to chat with each about random things. Having a baby really takes away a lot of that time but as he grows I am sure it will come back. We made the loop around our neighborhood three times, a very good first walk I think.

Here he is all bundled up, he doesn't ever really wear hats but we wanted to make sure he was nice and warm.

First Few Days

Thursday:

On Thursday night Moss's family came over to meet Brenden, so he got a little dressed up.He pretty much just loves to be held, and kick back and relax. He even kept the shoes on for almost an hour before kicking them off. He loved to meet his new cousins, and is excited to be big enough to play with them.

Friday:
On Friday, Christie woke up with a temperature of 102, and the Dr. said he wanted to see her. So, we all loaded up and headed in. Turned out that Christie just has a really bad cold, and there is no need to worry. Later that day we went to Brenden's first Dr. appointment at 4:00. He was so excited to get out of the house. We didn't get in to see the Dr. till about 5:30 so Brenden was not happy and screamed the whole time. I hate waiting at the Dr.'s office. The Dr. did say he is doing just great and gave us some precautions to take to help him not catch our colds.
Saturday:
On Saturday night Brenden was a little restless, so we turned on some music and danced in the living room. He seemed to enjoy it.Sunday:

Now it is Sunday morning, and we were able to get some pictures of Brenden and his favorite faces. The one he does most often is his concerned face. We think he is contemplating what this crazy world is about--but maybe that's just how his face is.
This is his look as if he knows something we don't know.
He is getting really good at winking. (Or maybe he other eye was just stuck)

We do not know who he got this from but he came out sporting this sweet mullet:)
And last but not least, and one of my favorites, his half smile.
Things are starting to get a bit easier, although he still eats about every 1 1/2 hours for about 45 minutes. Christie thinks she ate too much while he was inside of her and now he is used to that. The nights are beginning to be a little bit more predictable, and Christie has found a new bed in the recliner.

Two nights ago when Christie was really sick, I volunteered to take night duty. We did pretty good and Christie got quite a bit of sleep and started feeling much better. We are glad neither of us has to do this alone.
