Yesterday I went over and saw how cute Joanna's baby room was and how fun it looked so I decided I needed to get a move on it and get some more decorations for our babies room. I made a blanket and some more little decorations already but I was missing some stuff that I couldn't really make so Bonnie and went into town with hopes of finding things that would match. After going to a few stores we hadn't had any luck and I was getting pretty discouraged. We then made our way to Bonnie's house so Brayden could take a nap. I got onto the Baby R Us website and started to look around and I finally found this set of stuff. We were really excited because we didn't think we were going to find anything that match well. I had stitched stars and moons onto my blanket and the colors were brown and blue so it matched perfectly! I can't wait until they get here, it won't be until late next week probably but I will be setting it all up as soon as it gets here. This is Bonnies present to me and I am so Happy!!! Thanks Bonnie!

I have not done many of these because well as much fun as it is to show everyone how fat I am getting, I like to post about other things haha. Whenever I say I am getting fat Moss says no you are pregnant, he is a really good husband! The other night I was having a little pity me moment and I said I am just so fat and not attractive at all and Moss said Christie you are carrying my baby you could never be more attractive. Even if that is not completely true I think it is way cute that he would say it. Thanks Honey! Here are some pictures we took yesterday. I told Moss to pose so this is what he did!
This semester Moss is taking the Sports Medicine class and as a result he gets to go as many games as he can and help out on the side lines. There is a lot of standing around but I think he really likes it. I don't have much going on in my life so I go along and sit in the stands and watch Moss and some of the game. I am sure people look at me weird sitting there alone pregnant and all, but oh well I get to be around Moss so that makes me happy. On Saturday we went the football game, it was really long and Moss did a lot of standing around but it was a good experience for him. Last night we went to the soccer games and I have to admit they were a lot more fun. Moss likes to watch Soccer better and there was not near as much cussing and yelling going on as at the football game. After we came home and ate some pie I had made earlier in the day. I just got this craving for Pumpkin Pie while I was at the store so I got the stuff to whip one up. I am getting so excited for Thanksgiving, it is by far my favorite holiday!!! Moss was really excited about it, he loves it when I act all domestic:) I have to admit I love it to:)
About a year ago Moss and I decided to write down some things that we thought our kids might like to hear and hopefully they will be more willing to read them then listen to us talk for hours about how much we know. The cool thing is that we wrote these down when we were pretty young, (compared to how old we will be when our kids can read this) so maybe they will be more likely to listen. I am mostly posting this so we can have a hard copy somewhere on the internet in case our computer crashes or something. But if you would like to read enjoy and leave comments of any advice you may have of your own. Some of it is a little personal but I hope no one gets offended:) You can probably tell which stuff I wrote and which stuff Moss wrote haha Someday we will add more to it as we learn more...
Advice from Your Parents
Started on August 12, 2007
As your Dad and I drove home from church we started discussing what we wished we would have known when we were younger and even now that we are only 6 months married. We then decided to make a list on things in different categories that we will are important and may better you lives. You can take this as you like and use it or ignore it, we just feel that as your parents we would be hindering if we did not share some of our wisdom or lack of School: · Since you are related to us, (mainly your dad) you are going to be smart, but be careful to not let this play against you. For instance if you have the opportunity to skip over a class because of your intelligence be careful because you might not learn the basics of the subject even though you may be able to test out of it later.
· In any grade just be nice to people. I know by now you have probably heard that popularity does not matter and it really does not in the long run. I am not talking about when you are out of school but even in high school if you decide to run for any offices or anything like that. If you are nice to people from the beginning and do not try to put yourself above other by putting them down you will reap many many rewards from restraining from that practice.
· If at all possible take concurrent enrolment classes (if they still exist when your are able to). We may have tried to put you in a private school , but we are still really poor so we will see if that happens. It will feel so nice to be able to know that you are already way ahead of the game when you graduate from high school. And even greater plus is the school will usually pay your tuition.
· Have you ever wanted to get paid for going to school? That would be sweet wouldn’t it? (Is “sweet” still a cool word to use? Is cool?) Well if you follow these instructions, you will get about $5,000+ just handed to you…if you get good grades. By just getting all A’s you can get free money! Sounds good huh? College is expensive and probably will be way expensive by the time it’s your turn to take a turn at it so just get good grades please! We will all be grateful for itJ
Socially
· Let me tell you a story about a boy who was so cool in high school. I would say the most popular boy. He parents were rich and gave him everything; he was the star of all the sports teams and was quiet the ladies man. Well about my senior year, he started to do drugs and other stupid things that to some people made him even cooler on the outside. He even flew off a mountain in his truck because he was on drugs. I even tried to help him a little bit seeing as he was in my ward. Well as cool as this kid was right when grad-night was over everyone thought he was the stupidest person they had ever met. Now that all the high school games were over and you were not being put on a scale of how cool you were everyday, people perspectives changed very quickly. He has recently gone on a mission which we are all shocked but I guess he turned his life around or something like that but there are some people who still think he is the same person. I know it’s not all about being cool in other people’s eyes but when you are representing your self don’t you want to have a good name.
· This brings me to my next point; throughout your life you will be told that you represent different people. Whether it be the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints , your family, or where you work. Remember that what is most important if none of these other things make you want to be good it your represent yourself. You only have one chance at life and if you are rude or do stupid things no matter what you will always remember them. If you decide you think it would be funny to do a prank like throw rocks at a house of steal someone car you will probably get caught and have that on your record FOREVER! When you go to get a job, you will have to tell them that, when you go to get a house with your spouse you will have to tell the loan people that. Wouldn’t you hate it if your spouse had done something like that and you couldn’t get a house because of it well make sure you are not that person.
· To contrast the above story I once knew a girl who was like the nicest person a live. I went to school with this girl since I was in elementary school and I saw first hand what being a nice person can mean for you. By the time high school came around everyone loved her, people would say her name and only talk good about her. She recently got married and pretty much everyone in town was there because she has been such a good example to so many people and obviously her parents were way nice people too. She didn't ever do some huge act of kindness that I can recall but she was just always saying nice things to people leaving notes for people, she was surrounded by many good friends and it just seems to me that being nice can really pay off. There are many people that I know that are like this and they are the ones you can depend on when you need them most.
Financial
· Try your hardest not to buy crappy stuff, in the long run it will pay off if you pay a little more to get something good, IF it is within your means.
· If you choose to get a credit card at a young age (18 we suggest) don’t let a month go by that you do not pay it off. If you get lost in credit card debt it is horrible to try and get out of and it is a great benefit to your future spouse if you are debt free.
· Follow prophets advice only go into debt for school, a house and maybe a car. (If you like we will discuss these things further).
· Start saving your money early and get a job early so you can do so. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to pay for your own things and know that you have money in the bank for any emergency that will come up in the future whether you are single or married.
· Don’t waste your money on stupid things, you’re an intelligent person you know what you need and what you don’t. Eating out everyday is the best way to throw away your money. If you are still living at home just stop by for lunch I will cook you up something good (hopefully I am good at cooking by then).
Church & Serving a Mission · Serving a mission can teach you many things not only more about the gospel but also about all of these other categories we have mentioned. You will learn how to live on a budget, live on your own, how to really study, rent an apartment, buy and sell cars perhaps, live with someone even though you may not like them, live somewhere other than where we live and things are run there and many other things.
· Don’t just memorize a bunch or scripture, learn the gospel and know what you are talking about. Know at least a little but about all of the stories that are told not only in the Book of Mormon but also in the Bible.
· You will probably run in to some anti-Mormon literature on your mission or even before hand. Since you are related to me (your dad) you will probably want to read it. Before you do make sure you understand the tactics on argumentation and debate and how to identify fallacies and then realize although something may be surprising to you don’t think it will surprise many faithful members of the church. They are all old arguments package differently repeatedly. DO NOT be afraid to talk to me about these things I try to keep up on the anti Mormon literature so I can be ready to defend the truth.
· Obey the prophet if he says to not get a girlfriend or boyfriend before you or they have been on a mission it’s probably a good idea to listen. Although you cannot see the immediate effects of the decisions, we can tell you about them from first hand experiences. If you want, we will gladly discuss with you what some of the outcomes may be.
I have been able to feel the baby move around a lot lately and have been getting frustrated that Moss has not been able to yet so I decided it was time he got his turn. Yesterday before church Moss and I were sitting on the couch and I started to tell him that it was about time he felt the baby move. I mentioned the word "Dad" and he was like I don't know if I want to feel it move because then it makes it really real. I understood where he was coming from but if I get to fell how real this is then he should get to too. I told Moss we were not getting off that couch until he felt the baby move, and it was not more than half a second later that I felt a big kick inside of me and I look up at Moss and his eyes were really big and he was like oh wow...I was so excited that he finally got to feel it and realize why I have been so crazy about getting ready for him to get here. It's SO REAL NOW!!! Apparently our baby is pretty obedient at this stage in his life:) Today I got a little more excited and decided it was time to buy a car seat for the little guy! I decided to go for a color that could be used for both a boy and a girl so we ended up picking out something pretty basic but I think still really cute and durable. Here is are Brenden's ride...
This week I decided I needed to start on a craft and had totally forgotten I had planned on doing this letter thing as soon as we found of what it was. So Moss and I headed to the store and bought some white letters and I got to work. I changed my mind on how I wanted them to look about 5 times so there are lot of layers of paint on them, Whoops! They kind of remind me of football which wasn't really what I was going for but I think they turned out pretty good. Moss was happy I was doing something productive and decided to take a few pictures of me.
On Thursday night we headed out to the Rodeo with Brandon, Tannya and my whole family. I have loved the rodeo ever since I was a little kid and have gone pretty much every year. One of the best parts about it this year was seeing Brayden all dressed up in his cowboy outfit. He is quite the model too. I thought this picture was pretty cute...Maybe next year Bonnie will get some boots too
That night not many of the cowboys did very well but it was still cool to see lots of the animals and people all decked out in there cowboy gear. Oh and the sweet clown that is prett funny! The horses ran too fast for me to get any good pictures so this is the best I could do... One guy got bucked off and then the bull ran after him and flip him up in the air and he did a few flips, it was pretty intence but the guy seem to be alright so that was good:) It was lots of fun and I am excited to go back next year with a little cowboy of our own:)
Moss and I were just sitting around yesterday trying to find something to do and Moss decided we should go visit all of the parks run by the city of St. George so I would know where to take our kids when they get that age. I love to drive around this town and I like parks so I figured it should be pretty fun.Moss foudn all the address and printed up a page then we packed up our camera, GPS and some water bottles and headed out. The first park on our list was the 100 east park that is located right next to Harmon's. It is a good little park to go to and play volleyball cause it has pretty good lights, other than that its a pretty normal park.The park we headed to next was the Black Hills park which ironically enough is located on the black hill right next to the airport. This park is a little different because it does not have any toys, sand or anything besides grass and a picnic table. I would recommend this park for a late night dinner where you can over look the city and not be annoyed by anyone else being there playing around. Moss said that this is where his parents go a lot for their dates so I think its a pretty good place.Next of the list was the Shadow Mountain Park. Moss had never heard about this park before and frankly I don't think he believed me that it existed. The reason he may have felt this way was because when we put the address in the GPS, Mandi (thats the voices name on the GPS) lead us to some neighborhood and not to the park. I then told Moss I knew of a park in Shadow Mountian, but I wasn't sure if it was the city park or if it was just a neighborhood one. Either way we decided to head over there. So I lead Moss to the park and right when we got there he said this park is pretty sweet.
We decided to take a little extra time at this park and look around. I told Moss about a pond that some of my friends swan in once that I hoped was still there and we walked around trying to find it. Finallly after walking across a grassy field that I am pretty sure is a mile long we found it! It was a bit more mossy then I remember and I probably wouldn't ever let anyone swim in it now but it was still cool. The best part about this place was I found HERMAN! Yup I did, my duck that flew away a few months ago (ok maybe it wasn't him but it makes me feel good to think it is) Right when he saw me he swam over and walked right up to me and seemed really excited to be around me again, Moss said that its because he thought we had food, I disagree:) The interesting this was that there was not even any other white ducks like him just two other brown ones so obviously it hadn't grown up there, I guess we will never know. When we started to leave he started to chase me with wings all flapping and everthing. I am not even exagerating, ask Moss he will agree! On the way back Moss said that this would be a good park to bring Brenden to learn how to ride his bike or lots of other things. I would highly reccomend this park to anyone who wants room to run around weather just by themselves or with a big group of people. It has a good play ground, a huge sand box, Bathrooms, drinking fountains, Sand Volleyball, picnic tables in shade and a sweet track to ride your bike around and oh I can't forget HERMAN! Do me a favor if you go please take some bread or something for my friend he will love you so much:) Mathis park was the next park we headed to it was cool becuase both Moss and I would go there a lot as kids and play in the river and we even both had soccer games there at one point or two in our lives. It is still a good park though that has a shaded pinic area, bathrooms, drinking fountains, huge grassy field and something really cool a shaded playgroung area that is pretty new.
At this point in our journey we has decided that Shadow Mountain was probably the coolest park we were going to find, boy were we wrong. On our way to the bloomington hills park we saw a new park that is just of Dixie Drive next to where all the houses fell in during the floods. We decided to take a detour and stop off and see what this park had to offer. We had no idea what fun we were about to have. First off it has cute little benches that swing that you can sit on and cuddle with someone or just enjoy for some alone time by yourself. Next to get down to the play ground you can walk across some netted thing that is actually kind of scary. We started to look around and noticed that we had no idea what kind of toys we surronding us. Nothing at all look familiar. It all look totoally AWESOME! We first went to these swings where one person sits on one side and then you sit on the other and your weight makes you swing back and forth, its kind of scary actaully but totally fun!Next Moss found this skateboard thing that you could probably kill yourself on really easily, seriously. It has a place that you can climb up to the tippy top and ride down on it, so scary! Moss then saw this and figured you were suppose to run on it as fast as you can, it moves to so you get going pretty fast and he fell off a few times but didn't wine too much he is a big boy! We then tried out this things that let you spin around and around you get so dizzy but it is so awesome!The last ones that we tried were these bucket seats that you sit in and give your self a little push and then your weight takes over and you get going so freaking fast that you are pretty sure you are going to fly out or puke. We were so dizzy after wards.
This park is pretty much like going to an amusment park for free and not having to deal with the lines or too many lame people. Other things that is has it a climbing wall, titter totter things, really upgraded slides, shaded picnic area bathrooms and drinking fountians. This is by far our favorite park ever!!!We couldn't find a sign to take a picture of sorry!
Eventually we had to leave that park behind but don't worry we will be going back really soon. We kept on driving down the road to Tonaquint park. Once again since th flood a lot of it has been washed away but they have a lot of cool new tennis courts there and even a sweet nature walk that Moss and I are going to go back and do when its not so hot out side. It has a normal playground with bathrooms and drinking fountains. And by far the coolest sign!
We next headed to Bloomington park, where Moss and I have both spent many hours playing sports and Moss doing sports medicine for all sorts of things. This park is a good old fashion park that has baseball fields and basketball courts and a lot of parking.The last Park we made it to before we had to leave for dinner in pine valley was the Petroglyph park out in Bloomington. This park is a good park if your kids like dirt and you want to see some petroglph without having to do any hiking. If you want to do anything other than that I wouldn't suggest finding a different park.It was so much fun to go around to lots of different parks we only made it to 9 on the parks on our list and we have about 19 more to go. I will keep you updated next time we go out for now if you would like go visit some parks and let me know what you think! Lately I have been having a crazy for waffles and I told Moss about it yesterday so he decided to make me some at 9 in the night. At first we were just going to share one but then I reminded him who he was going to share it with and we both decided it may be better to make both to avoid any fights over the last bite. So Moss went to work after searching forever for the waffle maker thing, too bad that we move so much that I have no idea where anything is...oh well. Well we sat down to eat our waffles and well this house only has one bar stool at the moment so I scooted over and decided to share it and that is when I thought I need to get a picture of this and blog it. We enjoyed our waffles and lots of syrup. We slowy made it over to the computer where Moss showed me some sweet signing he had heard about at school in is psycology class you should all check it out... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-LYc06l2gGo Moss teacher said he knows the words to this song and it goes something like this "I like me horse" "I like to ride my horse" "I am a horse with straw in my noes" If you watch the video you will understand, its pretty funny I think.
