Brenden's First Birthday!

It is hard to believe but Brenden is one year old! Obviously he didn't know what was going on most the day but I tried to sing him Happy Birthday every now and again. We spent the day baking and hanging out. Not very different from the rest of our days but he seemed pretty happy. Moss has school and work through out the day so we were sad we couldn't see him much in the day but he was with us all night.

Here is the invite we made for his birthday bash:)Brenden really loves cookies, they are the only thing Brenden will sit down and eat by himself pretty much. So this year we decided to throw a cookie themed party. I looked around and found this cool cake, got the recipe and got down to work. It is suppose to look like a Oreo fyi.
We went over to the clubhouse and had a little party later that night. It was really fun to get together with friends and family. Brenden loves having people around so it work our really well. He was happy pretty much the whole time which really surprised me. The night started out with having cookies and hot chocolate. Brenden enjoyed it a lot I think.

After awhile he turned into this but it was his party so it's ok if he got a little dirty, that is what the washer is for.

After everyone was filled up on cookies we busted out the cake and sang Happy Birthday. Brenden was a little un-sure at first and just kept looking around like what is going on but about half way through he smiled really big and even clapped at the end when we did. He doens't have blowing down yet, when I tried to teach him he would just laugh and play with his lips:)

He tried to dig into the cake but it had been in the fridge for too long and was a little too hard for him. Instead he just kind of petted it.

We got him his own piece and he just ended up throwing it on the floor haha! It was pretty funny.

Moss tried to feed him a little...

But all he wanted was some chocolate milk:)

Most of my family was there except for a few and the ones that live in Idaho now. Brenden missed them and are excited for them to come down in March! Our friends Celeste and Carl came along with Courtney. Grandma and Grandpa Lillywhite were there and Weed and her cute kids. Thank you guys for coming it was really fun. I hate asking people to smile for the camera so here are some action shots of the crew.

Next it was time for some presents! I have never seen a one year old so into opening his presents. He was so funny, I am so glad we had our video camera there to catch all of the "oooohhh" Brenden was giving us. Everyone was cracking up the whole time it was hilarious. He definitely has a lot of personality to show everyone. He was so good at unwrapping the presents and reaching in and seeing what he got. He got really excited about every single one of them. Even some socks! He even loved to look at the cards.

Afterwards he played with his new ball and Cam taught him how to play with his new toys. Thanks Cam! For the record came tried to walk off with this toy, haha yup he was headed out to his van so excited he got a new toy! I explained that if he came to visit he could play with it. He just looked confused but at least he didn't cry:)
Brenden is such a fun baby to be around. When he came into this world he had a hard time figuring everything out and was really angry for the first little while. We are very happy that is over and now he loves life. Here is a list of a few thing Brenden can do at one year old and a few things he likes.
-He can walk along furniture and every now and again take a few steps on his own.
-He can stand on his own for about 5 seconds.
-He can make a "cheerio" face ie... :-0
-He gives me my phone if it makes a noise
-When I say Daddy is home he crawls so fast for the door and is very excited
-Climbs all stairs like a champ
-Fall to sleep all by himself in his crib with out crying
-Blow bubbles in the bath
He loves...
-To stand in the front of the cart at all stores and wave to everyone (we have a lot of friends now)
-Eat cookies
-Drink a bottle
-Go for long drives
-Visit Daddy at work
-Empty out the cupboards
-Give Kisses
-Most of all rock with Mommy in the rocking chair

We love you Buddy and are excited to have another year with you and see what exciting things you will bring to our family!

It's Official... we are building a house!

It's official we signed the papers today put down our money and picked out all our colors! We are so excited:) We are building out in Washington Fields, it is a 1800 sq feet set on a .34 of an acre. It will have four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They say they will start building around February 15th and have a 45 day building schedule. Which means it will be done around the first of April. Just in time for my birthday! It is going to be great to not be renting anymore and have a backyard. Moss figured out that if we wanted we could put in a lap pool, I said I would think about it haha;) It was really fun picking out our colors today and trying to make everything match. We hope it turns out ok, I guess we will see. Here is a picture of the lot...
You can see our neighbors in the back if you look close. There are a bunch of other houses about to pop up too, it should be fun to be in a neighborhood with young family like ours.

One of my favorite things about the location besides being only 2 miles from my parents, Bonnie (when she moves back) and Joanna is about 3 blocks away is a big park the city just put in with a great play set and a huge grass field. I am sure Brenden and I will have lots of fun time there this summer. If you look close you can see it.
I will be doing lots of updates as soon as they start construction so be prepared for lots of construction pictures:)

The other day the heater for the pool went out at Summit and him and some of the guys tried to clean it out themselves to save Summit some money. He told me that he was really dirty when he called me on the way home but I just thought maybe his hands were. I was a little wrong...
He was black all over. He told me he had even washed off a bunch at work. Even after he showered he still had black that just would not come off. He looked like he had eye liner on the rest of the day haha! Everyone kept asking him why he was wearing makeup. I tried to get it off the same way I get my eye liner off but he said it tickled to much haha. It was pretty funny!

What would a post be with out Brenden? haha. This picture is just too funny to me to not post. Moss and I were playing "sorry" and Brenden wanted to help so I grabbed the first thing I could find to distract him. Well he got the walled open and had a little fun throwing our emergency stash all over the place haha! I just love his face in this picture. It is priceless!

First Steps

Brenden is going to be one year old next week! It seems like a lifetime ago that I was pregnant with him. We decided it was about time we started working on walking with him. He has walked along furniture and taking leaps from couch to coffee table but nothing to be his official first step. Last Monday we got to work and he took about two steps between Moss and I! We were very excited for him. As you may know he is a little bit chunky so it's hard for his little legs to hold him up but he is getting better and better at it. I documented the milestone with some pictures and got a little but on our video camera. Brenden always has the sweetest faces for the camera. I think he may have gotten that from his Uncle Supe haha.

Time for 2010!

This New Years Eve was spent over at Joanna's house at first with a really yummy dinner and some fun games. I rocked Price it Right...well kind of. It was really fun to hang out with the old gang and glad we could get together. Next we headed over to first night to walk around and watch the fireworks. By we I mean Moss, Brenden, Derek, and I. I didn't get too many pictures but here is one of our little family all bundled up and ready to go. Brenden was so cute all bundled up and he said plenty warm I am pretty sure:)
The band this year was Okay. Not as good as last year I didn't think but it was still fun to listen too.

The fire works were pretty good too!

It was a fun New Years Eve and a good end to the holidays.

2010 Family Picture

I decided it might be a fun idea to take a quick picture of the family ever new years. Obvisouly it is not very proffesional seeing as it is in our front room and set on a timer, but I think it work out pretty good. I love Brenden's face in this one he looks really scared but I have no idea why haha.

Brenden and Mama, I really like this kid. It has been probably one of the hardest years of my life but I am glad I survived it and especially glad I had Moss here to help me a lot trying to be a mom for the first year. I just love my hubby and my buddy. Poor Moss has to deal with a crazy wife always freaking out over everything but he is REALLY good at calming me down. I hope I can be a better wife to him this year. This next semester is going to be way hard on Moss, he will be taking 15 credits of all upper level classes that people have said are pretty dang hard. And he just got told today he is going to be the General Manager at Summit which is A LOT of stress. He is getting a lot of crap from the owner for still going to school and got yelled at for about twenty minutes about it today but but I am very proud of Moss for sticking up for himself and letting him know how important education is to him. Good work! He is also a full time dad and a full time husband to a crazy wife. I sure do love him:0)

Crème brûlée

Moss got another urge to make something totally random so on New Years Eve he made Crème brûlée. I was a little nervous at first as to how it would turn out but Moss was determined to make it great. He went to the store picked up a few things we didn't have and got to work.

We didn't have any of the proper dishes to make it in so we used our little mugs instead. It worked pretty good!


Moss heated up the water in our sweet new microwave. We got a new one because a few days ago I tried to heat up some cookies and the whole microwave was filled with smoke! It was pretty crazy! I am just glad it didn't explode and we didn't have to fork out the money:)

After many hours of waiting they were finally done, well almost.

Put it on and they were ready to eat.

I was a little worried about how they would taste but then I smelled one and it smelled pretty good. I took a bit and it was amazing! It seriously was way good!

Brenden loved it to and ate almost half of mine.

The cook even like it, thats always a good sign.
