New Couches

Moss and I were sick of having a sofa that was not big enough for us both to lay down on. We also wanted something a bit more durable so we started the search. It did take too long until we found this set that we love. Even better was they were on sale for a pretty good deal. We splurged and got the recliner also so we can put our other one that was so kindly giving to us from the Smiths in Brenden’s room. The recliner won’t be here for a few more weeks but for now we are way excited about these new ones that fit us a lot better.  

Randomness of Late

Summer is in full swing and we are enjoying it a lot. I just wish it was not so dang hot all the time. We have been trying to keep busy by working on our backyard a bit at night when its cool and just hanging out. Someone owed us some money and instead of giving us cash they gave us this sweet Motor home to sell. It worked out really nicely because within three days it was sold! We are very excited about that! Now we can put in our backyard so Brenden doesn’t just have to play in dirt and mud and doesn’t come knocking on the back door looking like this…

 

Independence Day 2010

These last couple of weeks have been pretty busy. Another round of busyness started on Friday night when we bought a shed and gathered some friends to help put it together. I am not sure if they will still be our friends since we started at 6 and did not get done til midnight. It was not all our fault the shed company didn’t put the right piece in so we had to go back to home depot and trade. Eventually we got it done:)

Who knew Derek could build stuff haha. Just kidding Derek! He was a pro at finding all the parts!

The next morning we watched the Soccer game and then headed up to Bountiful for our Madi’s blessing day. Brenden was a trooper once again and only got angry a few times. When we got to Juge’s house we played in the backyard with Weed while Supe went on a 1 hour and 40 min run. He may be crazy! Afterwards we went to dinner and Brenden got his sweet balloon that he loved.

We then headed to the fireworks show. We hung out with the Family and ate some pie. Last week when we went up I packed some warm clothes for us but it was never cold. So this week I figured we didn’t need anything warm. I was wrong. So Brenden wore Moss’ church socks as leg warmers haha. It was all Moss’ idea:)

Brenden was all over the place so Moss chased him around. These pictures are pretty cute I think.

Our Family!

They had a sweet preshow that had people parachuting with jet packs on. It was awesome!

They shoot off the fireworks on a golf course up there. It was pretty sweet. We were only like 50 yards from where they were launching them so it was a but too loud for me but Moss loved it.

We were not sure how Brenden was going to react but we soon found out. First he cried and then he just covered up his face. We tried to pull it down and he would not let us. He kept it up for the whole show which was about a half hour with his eyes shut tight. We thought he had falling to sleep but as soon as it was over he sat straight up and clapped. It was so funny!

The next day we went to the blessing and had lots of fun talking with family. Brenden did this…haha poor chickens.

My Little Buddy

Brenden and I are together from the second he wakes up until the second he goes to sleep pretty much every  single day. He is turning into  my little side kick  which I love. I hate being alone so it’s nice to always have someone around…most the time;)  

Brenden and I like to eat yummy zucchini which I was surprised that he loved!

His favorite thing to do as of late is play with the pans. He will get them all out and add random things to them. Yesterday he wanted a spatula so he could stir his pretzels:)

The other night Moss and I went to check on Brenden like we do every night before we go to bed. This time I noticed something a little different. He was bare naked haha! He wanted to sleep very comfortable I guess and the diaper was just in the way.

We both love it when Dad gets home. Brenden gets so excited when I say Daddy is home. He screams and runs to the door. Moss loves his sword fighting game on the Wii. He doesn’t play very often since he is always exhausted when he gets home from work but he had a little extra energy yesterday. Brenden loves to watch him play. Most kids always want to have the remote but lucky for us Brenden thinks that the extra rubber sleeve that came with the game is an actual remote so he plays with that on haha. It’s so funny to watch him swing it around and grunt. When I turn on the TV he goes and grabs them for us haha.

That’s my buddy and I sure do love him:)

Stuffed Animals

 

Brenden has been obsessed with “softy” things since he was born. A couple of months ago he was introduced to stuffed animals and cannot get enough.  His very favorite is his puppy that is super cute. He just hauls it around the house all day. I love it! Moss and I thought it would be fun to introduced him to all of our stuffed animals. Moss had about six and I had the rest haha. They have been sitting in my cedar chest and now they have a new owner, who by the way could not be any happier:)

Key Family Vacation 2010

 Last week we celebrated Moss Birthday right before we left on our Key Family vacation. Wednesday morning Moss went to work for a few hours while I packed everything in the car. When he got home it was time to open his presents.

He got a new shirt….

He also got two tickets to go see Tarzan in a few weeks. He was really excited about that! I am excited too cause it’s a play I will actually understand:)

We then headed out on our trip. I was really worried how Brenden was going handle the long car drive but to my surprise he was pretty much perfect. He only slept for about 45 minutes and since it took an hour and a half to get to Cedar I was really worried but it all worked out great! Whenever he would get a little restless I would just pull out a new toy and he would be happy. This puppy kept him happy for about an hour:) He just kept saying Puppy over and over again! So cute!

 

Our first stop for our vacation was Juge and Lance’s house in Bountiful for dinner and to visit with them and Jay and Brynn and their cute new girl Madi. Moss is not much of a baby holder when it comes to other peoples kids but he held their little girl for quite awhile it was really cute. But don’t worry it did not make me baby hungry haha. We had a yummy dinner and then played some games and had yummy ice cream cake and sang happy birthday. Don’t worry Brenden promptly cried after we were done singing as usual…

Brenden kept pretty happy which made it a lot more enjoyable. We then headed to Cherry Hill to set up camp. My family got a pie for Moss and a card with some monies which he later spent on new sunglasses. He was really excited about it.

Funny Story:

Thursday morning Brenden woke up at about 6 which neither Moss or I were very excited about. I got him out of his play pin and laid back on the mattress. Brenden just walked around the tent and Moss and I were both in an out of being awake. We both woke up to Brenden doing his frustrated scream. We looked over at him and he had a couple of bananas. Moss said where did the bud gets those bananas. I said I don’t know we didn’t have any in here. After talking with my family and finding out there were some bananas in a stroller outside the tent we can only assume Brenden got out of our tent all by his big self and got them and came back in. We have know idea what else he did while he was out there. I was glad to know he came back in and the next night I was sure to zip up the bottom part of the zipper. It makes me laugh picturing in my mind he finding the little hole in the zipper and wiggling himself out haha.  Here are the bananas…

 

Brenden loved being able to be outside all day long. He especially liked playing with random toys he found.

Brenden did okay with staying in his stroller but sometimes he just wanted to get out and play:)

While we were getting our passes Brenden and Hailee went on this cute little carousel.

 

Brenden and Hailee loved to be at the pirate cove because the deepest it got was about 2 feet which was perfect. Brenden mostly looked at the water that was being splashed all over the place.

His favorite part was the little slide that was a perfect size for him. He loved to come down it but his favorite part was to watch Moss or I come down afterwards. He thought it was just so funny he would scream and put his hands over his mouth.

We spent a lot of time over at the lazy river. Brenden  loved going around and around.

 

After awhile though his head began to bob a little and eventually he was like this…

It was so so cute. Everyone that passes us kept saying how cute it was haha:)

While Brenden was snoozing in the lazy river being watch by Russell and Nicole Moss and I headed to some of the adult rides. I don’t think Cherry Hill will ever get old to me:)  Brenden woke up so we headed back to pirates cove and played around a little more.

We then got really brave and took Brenden over to the mat slides. Moss said he pretty much just sat quiet the whole time but I bet he liked it:)

By the end of the swim day Brenden was all tuckered out.

Later we went to the Hamster Haven and Brenden snuck into this ball pit without a pass whoops! But before I got him out I had to take a picture. Brenden loves anything that is round so he was pretty much in heaven here.

  That night we got Brenden to bed and asked my family to listen for him while we went and played a little minature golf. It was really fun and I think we need to play more often. There was a couple behind us that were just young and dating it was funny to watch them interact haha.

 

Moss ended up winning by just a couple strokes but I think I did pretty good for me:)

 

On Friday morning we cleaned up the camp while Brenden sat around…sometimes he is lazy haha:)

That day we headed to the Discovery Museum at the Gateway. I was a little worried it would be over Brendens playing ability but he LOVED it! Especially the first part where it is all about balls and putting them in tubs and buckets. Brenden was hard at work the whole time and enjoying every second of it.

The next room was everything from a childs perspective. First there was a little construction area that he liked.

Next there was a little kitchen just his size.

  Mostly he vacuumed the whole time we were there or mowed the lawn or yes I will say it pushed around a pink stroller. He is so intrigued by those kinds of toys.

 

He loved this little cop car too.

He also was able to play in a bug stream of water. It was not my favorite on because he got all wet but at least he was happy.

Brenden loves to drive cars, any kind.

 

Grandpa was really excited when he saw this and told Moss to get Brenden really quick. Brenden was not so much into it. Not yet anyways…

That night we were fortunate enough to have Juge and lance watch Brenden while we went to a Real Soccer game. It was really fun! The bad part was that  no one scored the whole time but oh well it was still fun. Except for the nasty Cheeseburger we paid 5 bucks for. Moss is pretty sure they were boiled:(

We then went and picked Brenden up.He was freshly showered and wearing “Lance’s” shirt because they had taken him on an awesome hike up the canyon and had dinner up there. They are real troopers for taken three kids under three with them. I am glad someone it showing him the great outdoors:)

The rest of the vacation was not as fun. My Grandpa Nielsen died earlier in the week so Saturday was spent at a funeral. This was the first grandparent to die in our family so it was really weird. I am going to miss my Grandpa but I know he is a lot happier now and I know I will see him again:)

He served in the military at a police man and then again in the air force so he was honored for those things.

I am still amazed at how many people showed up out of the family. He had 34 grandchildren and all but 4 were there. I was very happy to see all my long lost cousins and catch up with them. Hopefully we will get to do it again soon but not at a funeral.

   It was fun to get out of town for a bit and we get to do it again this weekend for Jay and Brynn’s baby blessing. I am excited to now see Moss’ side of the family. I quite like them. We have a family vacation planned with Moss’ family at the end of July which should be fun too:) I love summer!
