Lillywhite Family Camp 2010

This year we headed up to Brian Head for the Lillywhite Family Camp. We stayed in the same Cabin we did for our honeymoon so it was fun to go back again. I have to admit it was a lot easier being in a cabin then being in the outdoors so it was nice for this year while Brenden is still young to have him contained. We had a lot of fun up there and I was a little sad to come home. On the first night we cooked up some hamburgers and roasted some marshmallows. Here we are chillen by the fire.

The next day we headed out to Cascade falls which was a nice short hike and then a Beatiful waterfall. Brenden loved the hike there and looked so cute making his way down the trail.

After a while though we were falling behind so he had to catch a ride with Moss.

He did climb up some pretty decent hills though…

We found a cute little bench a long the way and thought it was perfect for a family picture.

Once we got to the waterfall Brenden was in love! He just loved to through rocks in it and could of stayed there for hours. It really was awesome looking.

We then headed back to the car and Brenden and I were buddies.

But of course he needed a ride again.

We got back to the cars and I tried on Brenden coat cause he was sick of it. Fits perfect right?

We headed over to some caves which I was glad were very open and no one made me go in the dark ones. I hate caves! But these ones were nice cause I could just sit there and hang out with the sky still being seen.

Brenden did a little exploring but for the most part stuck pretty close to me and Moss.

We then headed back to the cabin for some lunch. I was a nice mommy and got some Dora’s set to record so Brenden could have some fun too.

We spent a lot of time up in this game room. Especially playing on the foosball table. Moss and I were champs and only lost one time when we play the other couples. We have mad skills:) Someday I would love to have one.

It was really nice cause each of us got our own room. Here is ours…

The next day we headed out on another hike to find some river that just appeared out of nowhere. It was pretty sweet, except on of our nephews got some kind of poison ivy so Moss and Lance had to wash him off really good in the freezing cold water. But it paid off cause he was totally fine afterwards. Brenden enjoyed some more stick collecting and running down the trail.

Brenden just made his way up on this rock and sat there throwing rocks in the water. It was super cute.

That night we had lots of fun playing games with the adults and even watched Relief Society Conference while the boys took care of the kids. I was told to bring up some of my puzzles and after a long while we finally got this sucker done. We had four people working on it for about 3 hours throughout the time we were there.

Moss and Jay loved playing dog fight on the Wii and were so funny to listen to while they played. We sure wished we lived closer so these boys could play more.

Brenden was not much of a good sleeper the whole time we were there so on the last night we just let him sleep in the game room. He ended up sleeping the best there. Although when Moss went to find him in the morning he could not see him anywhere and apparently had got off the couch and crawled around a bit haha.

It was an awesome weekend and it was fun to see mostly everyone. I can’t wait til Thanksgiving when we get to see them all again:)

Today we worked a lot on the play house. We got all the walls up and it now looks like a real playhouse. It felt really good to make this much progress in one day.

We also got the rafters up…

 

After the bud woke up from his nap we were really excited to show him what we had for him.

 

 

He was pretty excited about it!

Tonight I, all by myself put the shingles on the roof:) I was so proud of myself. Hope Moss is too when we get home.

In other news they are getting really close to getting to our wall:) There is a little bit done on our back wall. I am really excited for it all to be done:)

More Walls

The playhouse is slowly coming along. I love having a project to work! Over the weekend we got the front and back wall built . I still need to finish painting the trim. I am almost done painting the side walls...we ran out of trim whoops...

We had a little excitement while cutting out the back wall. Moss got all done making the cut and realized it was a little tougher that time. When the wood fell down it was revealed he had sawed through the table haha! We both just laughed we are planning on getting rid of it anyways because the glass broke. We did find a cute one to build off of the website thought so it's all good. He cut it again a little bit it was really funny. Moss said at least it will fit in the trash can better now haha!
If we have time tonight we may put it all together and start on the roof:)

Just building...

Building this play house is really a lot of fun. The only thing I wish I had was my best friend Kristi Stout to help me. She was always the best at measuring. I suck at it haha. Someday Kristi and I will build again:) On Monday I worked on it while Moss was at work. He was pretty proud of me for what I did by myself which was this...

Luckily we were going to screw it into a board to make it straight cause it wasn't perfect haha. Brenden was good and just hung out on the swing.

Moss got home from work and we worked on the rest of it and finished up this step.

The next couple of days I painted the walls we have built so far. It was really fun to go pick out colors with Moss.

Tomorrow we will go gather the stuff for the next part. It should be really fun.

Project #1 Playhouse

Moss and I have been wanting to buy Brenden a play set for the last little while and finally decided to build our own. My friend Bret told me about this sweet website where a lady puts on a bunch of free plans for all sorts of wood projects. Moss and I are WAY excited about it and got started on it on Friday. Here is our goal of what we are wanting to make...

I know it looks pretty intense but with the step by step instructions it has been pretty easy so far. Bonnie and Aaron are nice and let us use their truck to get all of the wood. Friday night we spent about 4 hours and got this far...

Saturday morning we got our there bright and early...well about 9 and got to work again. All our neighbors kept asking what the heck we were building and then once we showed them the plans they thought it was awesome and asked if they could be next.
We carried it over to where it is going to be with our big muscles and got to work installing the deck part. Brenden was a good helper and would hand a screws and was really excited once there were enough slates to sit on it.





We worked on it for about 2 more hours through out the day and we ended at this point.

We went and bought the stuff for the next part which will be starting on the house part. I am really excited to get out there tommorow and start back up again. Moss kept telling me I would have to teach him how to do all of this wood working stuff but to my surprise he knows a lot too so we are a pretty good team. If this project goes well next we are planning on building some benches for out by the future fire pit and also a bed for Brenden when he gets big:)
